Intermediate English Language Learning

This program is designed for foreign workers who need to improve their English language skills and who are new to Jasper and Alberta. There will be focus on orienting newcomers to the community, establishing connections to reduce isolation, and, with support, lay the groundwork for participation in all aspects of community life.
Beginner English As A Second Language NEW!!!

Cost: $60
This course is for people who are able to have a basic conversation, but still need to improve grammar, increase vocabulary and have a better understanding of English. English skills will be taught in a communicative atmosphere. Improvement in these areas will help with confidence when communicating in an English speaking setting.

Simply Accounting is the full featured accounting solution for a small business and has been one of the leading accounting software packages for many years. In this introductory course you will learn how to set up a chart of accounts, manage credit card and bank reconciliations, learn how to work with accounts payable and accounts receivable and set up employee records for payroll.
Microsoft Excel 2007

Prerequisites: Using a personal computer keyboard and mouse, launching/closing application programs, and some knowledge of navigating the Windows environment to manage files and folders.
Excel 2007 is designed to develop the essential business skills for using Excel in the workplace. Learners will create, modify, format, customize and enhance workbooks, organize and present data visually through tables and charts; insert graphics; print Excel 2007 worksheets; perform calculations; and manage workbooks.

In this workshop you will learn how to use Global Positioning Systems, understand the features of a map, and how to use a compass to plot a course and take a bearing. This hands-on training will prepare individuals with the skills and knowledge to plan a route for a backcountry trip. A part of this class will be spent outside.

SafeTALK helps to create suicide-safer communities. safeTALK training is for everyone in the community and is designed to ensure that persons with thoughts of suicide are connected to helpers who are prepared to provide first aid interventions. Suicide alert helpers are part of a suicide-safer community.
Tutor Training Workshop: Reading
