ESSENTIAL COMPUTER SKILLS FOR BEGINNERS
Dates: January 16 to February 22 (Mon & Wed)

New to Computers? Want to build your resume? Start here with this introductory course that covers the basics of computers, the Internet and how to use Windows. Topics include: file management, the desktop, start menu, using the Internet, setting up and using Email, searching, adding and removing programs, word processing and more. This is a 30 hour course with plenty of support and practice time. Student will receive certificate upon completion of the program.
JOURNAL WRITING FOR WELLNESS
Dates: January 19 to February 23 (Thurs)
Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Cost: $50 for 6 weeks or $10 drop-in
Looking to unleash your inner creativity? Want to record your thoughts, feelings and ideas but don't know how to begin? This introduction to journal writing will jump-start your process. We will discuss the use of the journal as a tool for achieving self-discovery, as well as combine free-fall writing exercises, journal prompts and daily routine to get your innermost thoughts and ideas flowing onto paper.
SPANISH FOR TRAVELERS

This is a great introductory course for anyone travelling to a Spanish speaking country like Spain, Mexico or Cuba. You will learn essential Spanish words and phrases to help you at the airport, market, or at your hotel! Learn basic words and expressions in Spanish to help you overcome the language barrier.
PREPARING FOR CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

The Canadian Citizenship Test Preparation course prepares students for the citizenship test. Students will use the actual study guide provided by Citizenship and Immigration Canada along with group instruction to further their understanding of Canadian legislation, culture and history. Students will develop knowledge about voting procedures, Canada's history, symbols, democratic institutions, geography, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
PLAIN LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

For most of us, good writing doesn't come naturally; it's a skill we need to learn. We can all learn to write better using plain language principles. The benefits of plain language are:

* There is less chance that your document will be misunderstood.
Many studies have shown that plain language saves time, personnel resources, and money. Come out to this 3 hour workshop to learn how to give better service to your readers.
