LANGUAGE

ESL for Advanced Beginners

Do you need to improve your English language skills in order to prepare for the Language Assessment Test? This course is instructed at a CLB 4 level and will benefit anyone applying to become a Landed Immigrant or a PNP candidate. Classes will include vocabulary building and grammar, the main focus will be on speaking and conversation.


Spanish Tutoring Sessions

Intermediate Excel 2007

This course will begin with a tour of new features included in the 2007 software. You will learn about the application menu, tabs, ribbons, chunks &
supertool tips. This course is designed for those currently using Excel 2003 but who want to improve appearance and functionality of spreadsheets and workbooks. Students will learn how to work with multiple worksheets, how to freezeworksheets and rows, formatting features and printing options, filtering lists, as well as working with names and protecting data.

 

Scared Stiff: Computer Basics

Scared to turn on a computer? This absolute beginner course will teach you the basics, from how to log in, and use mouse controls and desktop toolbars, to managing and searching for files and folders. Discover how to create, view, edit, save and print documents. You’ll also change fonts and styles, use formatting tools and learn to browse the Internet. Most importantly, you’ll gain the confidence necessary to make efficient use of your computer.

 

Internet & Email for Beginners
Dates: Jan 26 - Feb 18 (Tues & Thurs)
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Are your family and friends encouraging you to use e-mail and access the internet? This course will teach you how to use search engines and browsers and provide you with lots of hands on experience using your own e-mail. You’ll practice sending and receiving e-mail messages, deleting unwanted messages, setting up address books, downloading attachments and managing your email account. By the end of the class you will be able to navigate the Internet and use your e-mail effectively. Must be comfortable using a mouse.

ProServe

Formally ASIP, the ultimate goal of ProServe Liquor Staff Training is to promote responsible liquor service in Alberta. Training topics include legal responsibilities and liabilities, identifying intoxication, handling situations involving minors, and discontinuing or refusing sale of alcohol. Mandatory Certification for anyone serving alcohol as of January 1, 2010.

Being an Executor: Legal Rights and Responsibilities

This presentation will provide an overview of the legal rights and responsibilities of an executor as that person who:
* Gathers the estate assets

Skin Care 101

Integrative Restoration Meditation for Health & Happiness

Integrative Restoration (iRest) is a modern

Yoga Basics for Beginners

Have you ever wondered what yoga is all about? Have you been too intimidated to try a yoga class because you have no experience? In this class, you will learn some of the basic physical postures, breathing practices and meditation techniques that comprise a yoga class. Thai Cooking

Come and learn how to cook Thai food using local ingredients. The course will involve participation in all aspects of the preparation and cooking process including the making of sauces from fresh ingredients to the all important tasting and adjustment of seasoning.
