Part 2 - Essential Computer Skills

This course is for learners who have taken Part 1 of this series and are ready to learn more. Your instructor, Neil Byatt will tailor this program to meet the needs of individual learners. You’ll be provided with lots of support and practice time. You’ll cover new areas of learning in emailing, internet surfing, safe computer practices and much more. Participants should have some basic computer skills.

Everyone thinks they know PowerPoint, but remarkably few of us can
create presentations that are clear, visually appealing, engaging
audiences with both design and content. Planning is probably the most important step in creating a successful presentation of any kind. In this workshop, you will discuss important considerations of planning such as purpose, target audience, backgrounds, transitions and animations.

Mental Health First Aid for Adults
Working with Youth

This course teaches first aid skills to adults so they can provide help to youth (ages 12-24) developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.*Certificate provided to those who attend the entire 14 hours.
ProServe

In-class training has a higher degree of learning than the on-line version. The goal of ProServe Liquor Staff Training is to promote responsible liquor service in Alberta. Training topics include legal responsibilities and liabilities, identifying
intoxication, handling situations involving minors, and discontinuing or refusing sale of alcohol. Mandatory Certification for anyone serving alcohol as of January 1, 2010.

60% of knitters claim that this hobby is a great stress buster! Knitting may look hard, but with simple instructions, and a little practice, you can learn how to knit in a snap. In this course you’ll learn the basic stitches and create a dishcloth and a felt pot holder. You’ll then be ready to move onto other more challenging projects.

This course is designed for people who would like to get more out of their camera. Students are guided through hands-on methods of image capture and basic camera manipulation. Participants should have a digital camera with the ability to control settings manually. Join photographer Alisen Charlten and Learn valuable tips for getting better shots of Jasper’s amazing scenery.
