Create your own website! In this hands-on class we will examine all of the basic elements associated with the creation and management of websites using Dreamweaver. We will discuss the use of HTML and styles, managing web page design elements and enhancing web pages with web graphics. After this course, you should be comforatable maintaining a website or even building your own.

This course would be great for people who would like to make a webpage, but don't want to fuss with the details of Webpage contstuction. If you want to make a website, have an idea and a vision, but don't know much about HTML, this course would be a good fit. Come prepared with photos and drafted content for you website.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID
Date: May 14 - 18 (Mon to Fri)
Time:TBD (20 hours of instruction)

Our basic level of Wilderness & Remote First Aid & CPR is for emplyees who work in isolated or wilderness settings and need to respond to emergencies when advanced care is not immediately available. The course covers material in Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas as well as offers strategies to provide extended care for up to 24 hours.

Who should attend:

This course focuses on employees who work in areas where help is hours away. Also for anyone that find themselves in an emergency situation with help being a long way away.  Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

Course content: Preparation and planning , your health , airway emergencies, breathing and circulation emergencies, first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest, wound care, bone, muscle, and joint injuries, head and spine injuries, environmental situations, poisons, cold and heat-related emergencies, medical emergencies, evacuation and transportation, extended care and written exam.

 

ADVANCED WILDERNESS FIRST AID
Date: May 14 - 18 (Mon to Fri)
Time:TBD (40 hours of instruction)

Comprehensive First Aid & CPR techniques for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in isolated or wilderness settings. Training is suitable for those who supervise or act as guides for groups of people. The course covers material in Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR plus advanced procedures and strategies to provide extended care for more than 24 hours.

Who should attend:

Employees who act as team supervisors or guides/leaders and need to work for extended periods in the wilderness or remote locations should have this training.  Also for anyone that find themselves in an emergency situation with help being a long way away.  Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

Course content:  Preparation and planning, your health, what is the P.L.A.N, airway emergencies, breathing and circulation emergencies, first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest, wound care, bone, muscle, and joint injuries, head and spine injuries, environmental situations, poisons, cold and heat-related emergencies, medical emergencies, evacuation and transportation, manual traction and realigning fractures, helmet removal, extended care and written exam.

Jasper Ambassador Program

Jasper's very own customized training program! The Ambassador Training Program will provide local residents the training to positively affect our guests' experience in Jasper National Park. It will also welcome new residents to Jasper and enhance their sense of place.

BEGINNER ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

For people who have very basic English skills, but need to improve in all areas for better communicatio. Grammar, vocabulary, reading and speaking are key areas that will be covered in the class. Improving in these areas will help with confidence when communicating in an English speaking setting.

This three-part class allows you to firmly grasp the fundamentals of Microsoft Word. Neil brings you through a sequence of skills so that by the end of the course you will be able to create, open and edit a document, utilize some of the handy Word tools and tricks and know how to insert tables. This course is geared towards Word 2007 or higher.
